NAFSA Government Connection events serve as a forum for NAFSA members and international educators to interact directly with federal agency officials about topics affecting their work; their international students and scholars; their outgoing study abroad students; and their institution.

Each online forum focuses on one agency and features an official from the agency along with NAFSA staff or NAFSA member leaders as presenters. Participants may submit questions and agenda items in advance of the event, or during the event if time allows.

Live events are free and open to all international education professionals. Past event recordings are accessible to members only.

USCIS Current Issues: NAFSA Regional Conferences 2023

Since USCIS officials were unable to participate in-person in the 2023 NAFSA regional conferences, NAFSA proposed recording a session featuring USCIS officials to serve as a supplement to the agency-focused regional conference sessions. NAFSA’s Current Issues Sessions Working Group gathered your questions and presented them to USCIS for answers. This session was recorded on October 5, 2023.  The questions were submitted to USCIS months prior, so the presentation may not address the most recent concerns.
